What does the future hold for the sexy, sassy and sweet girl group that is Girlicious? It is on a bit of a hiatus according to the last remaining member of the group, Nichole Cordova. Let’s rewind to 2007 and take a look at where it all began! Creator of the Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin, first introduced Girlicious on the reality TV show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. The original members, Chrystina Sayers, Natalie Mejia, Tiffanie Anderson and Nichole Cordova started recording their self-titled debut album in 2007 and later released it in 2008 but received more attention from Canadian fans then they did in the US. Due to differences between some of the girls and Antin’s choice to go in a different direction with the group, Tiffanie Anderson was the first to make her exit in 2009. The remaining three girls continued to work with new record label, Universal Music Canada, on their second album Rebuilt, which went in a more “pop” direction and reach #5 in Canada on the pop album chart. Most recently, in 2011 both Sayers and Mejia split from the group leaving Cordova as the sole member. Chrystina Sayers will be joining the fourth line-up of the Pussycat Dolls. While this reality TV made group has not lasted, other more successful female reality TV stars who have survived the industry include American Idol stars Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks. So the question remains, will Girlicious make a valiant come back and add new members to join Nichole Cordova or will this be the sad end of another girl group?
